She spends most of her days taking care of injured citizens, going house to house or being called as she's needed rather than holding down a stable office. Considering the lack of disease in the city, she's lost her touch in healing the sick, and primarily focuses on those who are given injures from fighting. The majority of her clients and patients are Insurgent members and fighters, though she is not heartless. She is usually willing to aid those she stumbles upon- granted they are willing to compensate her later and don't threaten her from the start. Given that she has studied medicine since her very first years in the city, she is also sought after as a scholar who has studied a variety of medical advances as they slowly unfolded. Tisiphone is even recently accredited with the creation of an opiate-based medicine, Pacem (along the lines of codeine), that is of weaker potency than laudanum or morphine. The low potency allows it to be used for smaller ailments that citizens do sometimes encounter. Research is still being made to make the medicine less expensive and easier to acquire.
Her secondary professions are that of an Irizima agent and black market dealer. It took her a great deal of time for her to be invited into the Irizima ranks, but she has served them with the utmost dedication. Tisiphone has been a full fledged agent for close to 100 years, and her career in the Stormways began even earlier with the original appearance of Redey in the 1600s.
As of the events of September 17th 1897, she no longer considers herself an agent of the Irizima.
Sybal Form: Aureus Mantichora
Tisiphone's sybal form mimics a the manticore of myth and legend. The sybal is a giant, lion-like creature that stands at nearly 7' and sports fur colors in vibrant red and gold. It has two tails that are mostly covered in fur, tapering into the middle until the end turns into a scorpion's stinger. She always appears with a mane regardless of the fact that she's a female sybal, and there are also orbs positioned on or floating close to certain parts of her body that give off a faint, shimmering light in the darkness at her will.
Her physical strength is not quite what one would expect for a lion of her size and frame. What she lacks in strength she makes up for in speed. She can run very quickly and with great precision, though it can only be of so much use in the city as a creature of her size. Her voice easily carries across large spaces when making more animal-like noises, and her bite is more powerful than any physical attack she may have. Contrary to what many would believe, her tails do not contain any form of poison. Instead, they are more precisely formed to hook any enemies that approach and prevent them from escaping her grasp.
Sybal Power: Trux Clamore
Trux Clamore is a unique ability, a power more useful to those around the sybal than to the sybal herself. This power gives her the ability to project her voice with immense power, and carry her ferocity and passion along with it in order to empower her allies and strike fear into the hearts of her opponents. Given the opportunity, it could be the rallying cry that can turn the tide of a precarious situation.
The strength of the power varies depending on the volume of her voice, the content of her speech, and the amount of concentration. When she uses the power and her voice is softer, the power maybe only deter the others around her from approaching her, or give a brief boost in strength or confidence. As the volume of her voice increases, it could cause other sybals to flee her presence, and when her voice is raised to the volume of a roar, she can cause small crowds to flee or give significant support to her allies.
If it does not physically empower or lead to fear, it may give another sybal the courage or emotional support needed to make highly difficult decisions.
Though, it is important to note: her power does not affect other sybal's powers directly.
If another sybal's abilities are determined by either physical strength or emotional state (which she can affect), only then, there is potential for the Trux Clamore to indirectly alter the effectiveness of another power.
Docile or Feral: Docile
Tisiphone is quite prideful and passionate to begin with, and her sybal reflects that well. Her anger and sense of vengeance is often exemplified in the sybal, but more so is her lesser-seen compassion and concern for those around her. She is usually more personably, calm, and approachable as a sybal, despite the large and somewhat intimidating appearance.
Personality: Headstrong, Passionate, Caring, Worrisome, Supportive, Guarded
Tisiphone is very steadfast and violent in her beliefs, so she can become quite argumentative easily. It's just as well you don't stick around for the argument, lest you risk losing your hearing in the process. She is outspoken when you gain her trust and only very opinionated to the public eye. The woman isn't often seen without a warm smile, but that could easily disappear if you don't chose your words carefully. If someone manages to become close to her, she will defend you until the end and encourage anything you believe in. She has a mother's selfless heart and the ferocity need to defend her loved ones. As much as she cares about others, Tisiphone doesn't easily open up to other people for fear of worrying them or causing more grief, and as such it's more common for her to only socialize in public, regardless of how much calmer she seems.
She doesn't take kindly to people that don't take her seriously, particularly because of her size and youthful appearance. Underestimating her wit and way with words would may be your wordly demise. That said, it's easy to calm her down with flattery and shallow compliments, or small gifts to earn her favor. Anything that looks pretty or has a good flavor can quell her rage. In public, it's difficult to see her true nature because of how often she keeps to herself. Once she knows she can put some semblance of trust in you, her feelings will be much more apparent and she will let her guard down more often.
History:
In Fair Verona ( Before the City )
She was born Tisiphone Marcius and raised solely by her father in Europe, born around the start of the Second Crusade in the Italian territories of the Holy Roman Empire. Her mother was of Persian descent, though her father never discussed the details beyond that.
After a devastating loss of funds, the young girl was even married off to a husband (Regulus Furia) in order to keep her father's business running through monetary connections. She was married at the age of 14 and eventually raised a young daughter (Alida) that managed to survive through childhood. Her husband was not the most supportive and loving of men. He completely denied Tisiphone and her daughter of any freedoms, almost exclusively retaining her to the house and household activities, regardless of their somewhat higher status in the society. Between the domestic abuse and a desire to find a better life for herself, Tisiphone constantly hid her feelings from Regulus and sought out a way to improve her life as a whole.
And so, one day when her husband had left and Alida was safe on a visit with their family, Tisiphone wandered out alone in a fit of anger and found herself in front of the Traveler's Forest. She chose to enter the woods, still seeking her freedom and personal rights in the back of her mind. After stepping into the woods and walking for some time, she felt almost invigorated by the liveliness of the forest around her and continued to travel for what seemed like ages before meeting Theo and reaching the gates of Sybal Heim.
Sybal Heim
Her first days in the city were the most difficult. Tisiphone came into Ambrotos under Minister Solomon Sanbourn, and during her first few weeks... typically refused to speak to anyone else but the Minister and his aides. Between finding out she'd traveled 200 years and the entire nature of Sybal Heim, she struggled to reconcile her emotions. She was often angry, easily upset, and highly temperamental. With help and guidance in those first few years, she eventually found some personal stability and odd serving jobs in taverns while she pursued an education. Out of spite for the workings of the outside world particularly the lack of education for women in her time, she was determined to enter academia.
For a few hundred years Tisiphone lived a much simpler life. By the end of her Centennial she had become a physician on call for Ambrotos and Heilig, known for treating any and all citizens. Her experience in the taverns also brought her into her first contact with illegal activities and the Stormways, but then, she only went so far as to consistently win card games in bars. The woman's long standing connection with her Minister was incentive and reason for staying out of trouble.
During those first couple centuries of her life, Tisiphone and Solomon remained close. Even considering their two positions and sometimes difficult schedules, she and the Minister maintained a friendship for many decades through nightly visits and frequent trips to the Estate. The woman looked to him for all sorts of advice, and he was a calming presence that helped her through many of the hardships in her early years. To this day, Tisiphone is still bitter and resentful of the lack of information involving Solomon. She harbors a small grudge against Tristine for simply succeeding him and a bitterness towards the city as a whole for denying her the answers she believed she deserved.
With one of her closest companions gone, Tisiphone fell back into a temperament not unlike her entry to the city: angry, secretive and reclusive. The more time passed, the more her rage evolved and the more involved she became in Insurgent rallies. Tisiphone then eventually left the district of Ambrotos and moved to Heilig around 1605. She found comfort in alcohol, became a more prominent force in the mazes of the Stormways, turned to gambling and fighting rings as sources of income, and even dabbled in the trade of opium for extra money and means to support the Insurgent cause. The more time passed, the more her loss fueled the changing of her views, and the more fierce her opinions and voice on the matter were. What started as a desire for more freedom than she had turned into vengeance and spite, and a hatred for the city that she believed wronged her.
New Mutiny
With her vocal nature, skill with keeping secrets, and now-outspoken opinions in the ranks, it was only a matter of time before she was approached by the Irizima. It took her quite some time to adjust to the mere existence of the group, but far less time to accept their conditions and begin training. This was where she learned the bulk of her ability to remain hidden from public view, specializing in stealth for the sake of gaining information. She was a slow learner to fight at first, but the physical abilities came with time, aided by her knowledge of the human body utilized in her practice. It was just past her 400th year that she reached her final initiation to the Irizima, earning the title "Chanter".
With the nature of her work, the shadows are hard to avoid. She has continued her practice as physician, now mostly attending to fighters at the Met, fighting rings, sports players, and sometimes continuing academic studies. Since becoming a physician she has also helped to write a small handful of medical texts, thoroughly studied human anatomy, and even being accredited with the creation of the medicine Pacem- making her a known threat to those in the underground as someone with a vast knowledge of the human body. Tisiphone has served the Irizima faithfully, while still serving the other members of the Insurgent forces with dedication and keeping up her law-abiding demeanor through careful precautions and centuries of experience with deception.Additional Info:
-Because Tisiphone lived by a different calendar system before her time in the city, her birthday was January 20th on one and most likely January 27th on the calendar for Sybal Heim. It's not very often that she actually remembers her own birthday, but when she does, sometimes she'll jokingly insist on week-long celebrations (especially for milestone birthdays).
-Tisi is ambidextrous!
-Her diet is extremely healthy, to the extent that it can be within the city. It's uncommon to see her eating sweets, but she rarely turns them down as gifts.
-Last fact aside, she used to have a very unhealthy drinking habit. She's since stopped after an accident in 1892, but the woman pointedly avoids drinks after the fact, since she had multiple days/months/years of relying on alcohol to cope.
-Although not pictured, she wears particular pieces of jewelry in sets to communicate with other members of the Irizima.
-One of her favorite hobbies is doing figure drawings. She has a knack for remembering faces, so she occasionally enjoys sketching people she sees in the city in one of her journals.
-Tisiphone has two important personal possessions. One is the golden necklace she wears, bought in her first hundred years in the city and commissioned to resemble the orbs from her sybal. ( Since she first bought it, the charm has been remade or repaired three times, primarily by the goldsmith, Dicue. ) The second is a collectors-edition set of Bell Tower cards from the 1500s, which she meticulously cares for. ( This particular edition of the deck was the last one of it's kind printed before Solomon's disappearance. )
